This past week I attended a seminar with Australians Steve Wells and Dr. David Lake. Here is a picture of my brother Nick Ortner, myself, Steve Wells and Dr. David Lake. We had a great dinner discussing the future of EFT. Here are three tips I learned from them that I personally found helpful.
1. Loosen up and laugh! Does the concept of healing have to be SO serious? "NO," say Steve and David. Using humor is a great way to get results with EFT. When I took this into account, I found some of my own challenges to be hysterical while I tapped! What’s funny about your problem? Be playful!
2. Validate their feelings. When your working with someone and they say, "I feel so fat," don’t say, "Oh no, you look great!" (unless, of course, it’s your girlfriend or wife). Validate how they are feeling. This way people feel understood and can tap on their feelings. Never argue with the way someone else feels, but help them express themselves.
3. Use energy toning. You don’t need to be using EFT step by step to get results with tapping. Just tapping on the meridian points while in the car or watching your favorite TV show will help. You don’t need to be saying or thinking anything. This is called energy toning. I’m going to take advantage and tap while watching "So You Think You Can Dance!" on TV tonight!
